My love of music started at the tender age of 6 when I purchased my first album; “pronounced leh – nerd – skin – erd” from lynyrd skynyrd. I have to thank my brother who helped me with this choice because he punched me really hard when he saw me going for the abba album. Suffice it to say, skinny lynyrd is one of my all time favorite groups.
I actually got my start in radio at the age of 10 back in the early 80’s on WGFM which was the FM counterpart to WGY at the time. You may remember it as Hit Radio 99.5. I worked with D.J. Lee Warner in the mornings and we would also spin private parties and dances all over the region. That inspired me to spin off my own private D.J. business. Eventually, college called and I received my bachelor’s degree from SUNY Albany.
I love every type of music out there and I also play a multitude of instruments. My favorite, however, would have to be the marimba; which is a percussion instrument similar to the xylophone – only bigger with rosewood tongues of wood.
I am a Pisces therefore, I love to swim. You could probably find me doing laps at a YMCA near you during lunchtime. I also play drums in a band and on the weekends, you might be able to find me down at the local saloon. A boating enthusiast at heart, you can find me cruising the islands of Lake George from thaw to freeze.
My favorite country artists would have to be Shania and Toby Keith………and of course, the man in black.
It’s an honor and a privilege to be working on the mightiest, most powerful country station in the region…..and I look forward to accompanying you on your ride home!
