175th Saratoga County Fair

Classic carnival fun is just around the bend in Saratoga County! The 175th Saratoga County Fair is sure to be a hit with every member of your family.  The Fair is open 9 a.m. to midnight daily; the midway and live music pavilion are open noon to midnight daily; and the concession building is open every day 10 a.m. to 10 p.m

 

 

Warrensburg River Front Farmers Market

When: Friday July 22nd  3-6pm

Where: River Street (Route 418) near Curtis Lumber, Warrensburg, NY

The market is a “producer-only” market, limiting sales to locally grown produce, wine, baked goods, preserves, maple syrup, honey, dairy, poultry, meats, plants, soaps and lotions, and more.  All prepared foods are made “from scratch”, utilizing locally grown ingredients whenever possible

 

 

Defiance & Independence Battle Re-enactment

When: Saturday, Jul 23, 2016 until Sunday, Jul 24, 2016 -

Tim: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM 

Where: Fort Ticonderoga, Fort Road, Ticonderoga, NY 12883

Join Fort Ticonderoga for a two-day battle re-enactment highlighting the climactic summer of 1777 as its American garrison was outflanked by a British invasion force descending from Canada. Experience the fog of war and smoky haze as we re-enact this careful chess game between the British Army and an entrenched Continental Army at Ticonderoga.

Where:  Queensbury VFW Post 6196  on Luzerne Road at 1:00pm

Details:  Al has been hospitalized since Feb. 28, 2016 for numerous medical issues including his fight with cancer. All contributions will go to help with the compounding medical bills. We will be having A pool tournament , 50/50 raffle, basket raffles, live auction, live music, buffet dinner $10.00 a person,$5.00 square board pick a # 1-100 winner will get 250.00. 4th Zombie Gauntlet 5K & Touch A Truck

When: Saturday, Jul 23, 2016 - 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM 

Where: Queensbury School Cross Country Trails

Cost: $5-$25

Zombie Gauntlet 5K: Registration and Makeup from 8 am to 9:45 am, start time 10 am $25 per person, Teams of 5 or more $20 each for ages 10 and up

The 5K is a timed race held on the Cross Country Trails. The woods have become infested with hair raising, brain oozing ZOMBIES. Each racer is given a belt with three "life" flags. See if you can make it through the trail keeping at least one life flag. Even if you’re not successful surviving the zombie hoarde, join us afterwards at the Touch A Truck event, FREE admission to all racers and zombies.

Touch A Truck:  10 am to 2 pm  $5 per person or $15 per family. Live Music Food and Beverage and a Pie Eating Contest 

It’s a great opportunity for families to get a closer look at their favorite Trucks and meet the people that protect, build and serve our community! Register @ jrvfoundation.org

Divas for a Cause 7!

Hosted this year by Lending Hearts & Hands, Inc, a not-for-profit organization created to assist local cancer patients and their families. The Divas have been performing for cancer-related fundraising for seven years now! Join us for their amazing performances, basket raffles, food and drinks. Awesome tunes by DJ Drew Carey!  Adults (18+) only.  IDs a must.

The 26th Annual Million Dollar Duck Race and Family Fun Day

Details:  The fastest little duckie will win $2016 and if it is one of the pre-selected million-dollar ducks.  Lots of family and children’s activities for Family Fun Day:  a DJ, bounce house, old fashioned games, face painting, pony rides, petting zoo, special characters, photo booth, coloring books, food booth, and much more. Make sure to check out The Roaming Railroad, a trackless train that provides free rides around the park!  The Annual Million Dollar Duck Race is sponsored by the Glens Falls Kiwanis Club each year and raises funds for participating non-profits. Duck tickets may be purchased for $5 from Kiwanis Club members or participating local organizations. Be sure to buy your duck ticket and cross your fingers for your favorite rubber duckie on July 30, 2016 – you could end up being Glens Falls, NY’s next big winner!
